Michelle + Eric's Story
Through God’s infinite and perfect design, Eric (born & raised in Ohio) + Michelle (a Texas native) met in Indiana & were married in 1997. Missions has always been a huge part of their lives + a ministry mindset they wanted to pass onto their children. They took their two young sons on their first mission trip to Mexico in 2012 to serve with the Yeaters (who are also family).
The next trip they took was to Guatemala in 2015, bringing along some students from Belpre Christian Academy as God continued to weave their lives & ministries into missions. Their involvement became more personal when they sponsored a child through the Los Seguidores program. They were able to meet this child & be involved in a week of ministry in La Comunidad - where God allowed lasting connections + a deep love for the children of Guatemala.
In 2017, they brought another group for another week of service with STC Guatemala. This trip solidified their commitment & desire to love the people of Guatemala however God asked of them. They were able to sponsor two more children – this time from the village of Pachimulin. They were also able to meet many of the STC staff and forge new relationships with these special people.
Eric continues to ask everyone he knows “When are you going to Guatemala with us?” and has had several take him up on it. You could be next! In 2018, God prompted Bob + Tessa to ask Michelle to serve with STC Guatemala as their Sponsorship Coordinator. It has been her honor & privilege to work with many of you in this capacity. She will advocate for each one as if they were the only one. They each have a story & she wants you to hear their voice, meet their face & love them to Jesus.
